11 Entrepreneurs Reveal Essential Elements Every Company Website Should Have

We asked eleven entrepreneurs to share the top three things every company website should include and here is what they had to say.

Is your company website equipped to serve the needs of your customers? It’s easy to become overwhelmed with countless website features, design aesthetics and tools that aim to deliver a cohesive web presence. However, there are key features and tools that every company website should be sure to consider.

We asked eleven entrepreneurs to share the top three things every company website should include and here is what they had to say:

1. Lead Gen, Company Description, and Call to Action

“Every company website should include a link to get customers to sign up. Databases are becoming a strength to every company. Next, it should also have a company description that tells who you are and what you do. Finally, it should include a call to action that tells people what you want them to do while visiting your site.”

– Dr. Tashni-Ann Dubroy, CEO of Tea and Honey Blends, @THBhaircare

2. Company Information, Contact Pages, and Social Media Links

“Company info pages should be simple, clear and neat; and tell prospective clients what exactly your business stands for, products and services, and how [you] satisfy your clients’ needs (i.e. testimonials, statistics, etc.). Contact information is [also] essential (i.e. e-mail addresses, phone numbers and a mailing address… [Lastly] social media links must be included. In this day and age, having a successful online presence provides more depth, shows consumers that the company is tech savvy and up-to-date on current trends, and also grants the company another medium to connect and engage with existing and prospective clients.”

– Ian Aronovich, CEO of GovernmentAuctions.org, @GovtAuctions

3. UVP, Staff Bios, and Unique Content

“Every business website should have a unique value proposition (UVP). In one sentence, the UVP sums up how your business is different from all other companies that offer similar products or services. Also include a staff page complete with photos and bios of the key executives, even if the business is a one-man band. Finally, don’t underestimate the value of unique content. Customizing your website’s content is a great opportunity to communicate your company’s culture, convey the benefits of your product or service and stand out among some of your competitors.”

– Jonathan Passley, President and CEO of PDR Web Solutions, @PDRwebsolutions

4. “About Us” Section, Smart Web Design, and Social Media Integration

An “About Us” page lets people know the business is run by humans. People like to do business with other people and want to know the story behind products and services before they agree to buy. Also, responsive web design helps your site scale to the screen size of all devices, which will keep your users from exiting your site very quickly. Finally, social media integration helps to kick up your SEO and boost the social footprint of the business.”

– Apryl Beverly, President of BAAB Writing and Marketing Services, @baabwriting

5. Consistent Information, Social Media, and a Company Blog

“First, your site must have a clear call to action and ‘Contact Us’ on every page… You should also include [links to] your [company social media accounts] … on every page. Lastly don’t forget to link to an engaging blog with new content uploaded every week to show industry expertise, community engagement and increase SEO.”
