Ghalichi attests to the impact that her TV role, as a cast member of Bravo TV’s hit show the Shahs of Sunset, has had on her businesses.[The impact of the show has been] incredible! I mean, it was the main reason I decided to do the show. I knew it would be an incredible platform for my existing businesses and any business that I create in the future.
I mean, 2.5 million viewers are watching the show and learning about your product and about you. So it’s the best platform. Shahs has definitely help my businesses in more ways than I could describe.
Biggest Startup Challenge
My biggest startup challenge was fear; fear that you won’t be successful, fear that you’ll fail, fear that everybody will hate your idea or think it’s stupid, fear that you’re going to lose all of the money (you invested) and you’ve lost your job.
Fear is the biggest challenge that you need to overcome — you just need to believe in yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself and you don’t believe in your product, then nobody else will either. So you have to take a stand; don’t second-guess yourself and don’t get insecure.
Everybody’s going to have something to say, whether it’s positive or negative. There’s always going to be people that will disagree with what you’re doing; [those that] don’t think it’s a good idea and they will vocalize it. You have to ignore them and remember your dream and your purpose. And believe in yourself.
#1 Tip for Entrepreneurs
Just do it.
I think a lot of people have a lot of really great ideas, but they just are too scared to do it and take that first step to start that company; to quit their job if that’s what they have to do.
You just have to do it. And if you do it and you give it your all, there really isn’t a lot of risk. People think it’s too risky or you might fail, but it’s only risky if you don’t give it 100 percent. If you give something 100 percent … you’re going to be successful.
