4. Current obsession:
Purple nail polish! Poshly’s brand color is purple, so I rep the hue on my fingernails and toenails every day. Right now, I’m into O.P.I.’s Purple With a Purpose. It pretty much explains the drive we have for our work at Poshly.com.
5. Favorite business tool:
Google Analytics, hands down. I am a metrics-driven entrepreneur. Measuring business activities enables you to improve them and, at Poshly, that mandate informs how we service our brand customers as well.
6. Favorite book(s):
I adore business books.
Some of my favorites include Ronald Cohen’s “The Second Bounce of the Ball” and Taleb’s “The Black Swan.” I also thoroughly enjoy literature like JD Salinger’s “Nine Stories” or anything written by the venerable Kurt Vonnegut. I like writers who, through their works, encourage readers to be reflective and dream big. And of course, my book, The Coolest Startups in America, is also one of my favorite reads.
7. Best place to unwind:
I long for the beaches of Tel Aviv. I wish I could get back there more often! Israel is often a tumultuous place culturally and politically, but there’s nothing like spending a day walking along the gorgeous boardwalk of the Mediterranean, day tripping to the Dead Sea mineral spas, and guiltlessly devouring a plate of hummus.
8. Would love to have dinner with:
That’s easy: Mark Zuckerberg! He’s a young entrepreneur who successfully navigated a dense competitive landscape, established a top-notch work culture, and built one of the most notable companies in recent digital age history. I’d be happy to fly back to my hometown of Palo Alto for that appointment! I’m thinking sushi …
9. You can never have too many:
Ideas. Write them all down, and then prioritize. Spend your time on what you’re passionate about; hopefully it has a large, positive impact on the world.
10. Essential business tip:
Know your numbers. It’s easy for entrepreneurs to become rah-rah about the vision of their companies, and while passion is fundamental, understanding the math behind your business decisions will help you succeed too.
