Los Angeles, dubbed “Silicon Beach,” is becoming an active player in the startup world. The area is noted as the fourth largest recipient of venture capital in the U.S. after Silicon Valley, New England, and New York; with almost $2 billion invested in 2011, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Venture Capital Association. From tech to design, these ten entrepreneurs — alongside others — are fostering the entrepreneurial growth of LA and hoping to give Silicon Valley a run for its money.
