The Levo League community is an online social network designed for young professional women in the formative years of their career path.

Founder(s): Caroline Ghosn, Amanda Pouchot

Company: The Levo League

Location: New York, NY

1. We came up with the concept of The Levo League when:

We met on our first day at McKinsey &Company, a global management consulting firm, and quickly developed a friendship as we supported each other through the nebulous time of post-college professional life.

We realized that the resources we needed to succeed (whether they be tips on how to negotiate a raise or access to mentors who give us advice based on their personal experiences) weren’t available, and especially not in one easy-to-access place.

2. Ambition:

To create innovative solutions to societal problems, starting with the expansion of women’s resources and accelerated performance in the workforce.

3. One day I hope to:

Caroline: Meet people whose lives we have positively impacted.

Amanda: Change the way that young women perceive their success and the success of their peers; that they can freely celebrate it and each other rather than shy away from the spotlight.

4. Current obsession:

Caroline: I’m a design junkie and currently obsessed with Pinterest and understanding what drives our perception of beauty and successful product engagement.

Amanda: Central Park and all things ‘nature-y’, sporty and outdoorsy. I am also obsessed with cooking and the way it brings people together.

5. Favorite business tool:

Caroline: Productivity tools. I have recently explored TeuxDeux and Producteev and am looking for the sweet spot.

Amanda: Twitter. Amazing way to connect and engage with users, meet new people and get real time (albeit public) feedback and love!

6. Favorite book(s):

Amanda: Friedman’s That Used to Be Us, Professor Hinshaw’s The Tripple Bind, anything by Goughman and of course Harry Potter.

Caroline: I just finished Steve Jobs by Walter Issac and loved it.

7. Best place to unwind:

Caroline: Somewhere naturally beautiful with no cell access.

Amanda: The beach.

8. Would love to have dinner with:

Caroline: Lady Gaga – is she a theatrical method installation genius or astute music producer’s marionette?

Amanda: Dinner with the female Senators; would be really cool to see all of them interact across party lines. Can Hillary come too?

9. You can never have too many:

Amanda: Pens; the good ones — ink rollerball pens.

10. Essential business tip:

Caroline: Be proactive! Keep your outlook positive.

Amanda: Trust and believe in yourself. Always look for ways to improve. Surround yourself with people who believe in you and push you to be the best version of yourself.
