If you don’t like something – change it. That’s precisely what twin brothers, Ashton and Ryan Clark did. As college students, after experiencing frustration with the ticket buying process for on-campus events – they decided to make the process simple.

In 2010, Ashton and Ryan launched UTicketIt.com, an interactive online ticketing and event registration and management website for non-profit organizations, to help organizers manage events with confidence and simplicity.

Learn how twin brothers, Ashton and Ryan Clark turned epic failures into major successes and why the best time to start your company is – today!

Company: UTicketIt.com
Founder: Ashton Clark, Ryan Clark
Location: Chicago, IL
Industry: Event Planning
Startup Year: 2010
Startup Costs: $35,000

How We Got Started:

As students at the University of Illinois, my twin brother Ryan and I became frustrated with the ticket-buying process for on-campus events. There was no way to buy tickets online, so individuals had to purchase tickets directly from the event organizer, from the ticket office, or at the door. Realizing that other students shared our frustration, we developed the concept for our new business, UTicketIt.

UTicketIt.com integrates all the tools to create an event, manage event registration, accept payments, collect donations for a fundraiser, prints tickets, spreads the word about events through social media using Facebook, Twitter, and email, to help organizations sell out their next event. It enables organizations to manage the whole process quickly and easily.

Interesting….another example of a company pivoting to make it. Would totally agree with the biggest challenge…budget and time…multiple them by 2 or 3 times what you think to get a better idea of what it will be!
