Apple has done it again with a match made in heaven. Innovation meets functionality and relevance. The iPhone is soon to get built-in Credit Card reader capability thanks to a new gadget launched by mophie.

The Credit Card Reader is a combination of a hardware device that bolts on to your iPhone or iPod touch, and third party app that will allow small businesses the ability to take credit card payments on the go.

This strategically sound market entry is prime for mophie — so far they have focused on peripherals such as battery packs to extend the life of the iPhone. This of course, means tough competition for newly launched company Square — created by Twitters founder Jack Dorsey, which also allows iPhone users to take payments on the fly.

This represents one more reason why iPhone is high on my list as one of the best smartphones around for savvy young entrepreneurs.
