All entrepreneurs are motivated by varying life factors. And if you ask most of us there is a resounding mindset that we are either born with or acquire. If you think that perfection precedes purpose — think again. While there are tons of tangible things that you will need to succeed in business — it’s the intangibles that will move you forward & grow your business. I have to make a daily quality decision to be dedicated, motivated, aware, and driven. Part of it is not taking yourself too seriously. Here’s one of my favorite mantras — hopefully this will spark something within you too. As a kid, I was fascinated with “The Little Engine that Could” — here’s my adult version.
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don’t.
If you’d like to win, but don’t think you can,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost,
For out in the world you’ll find
Success begins with a fellow’s will;
It’s all in the state of mind.
If you think you’re outclassed, you are;
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can win the prize.
Think big and your deeds will grow.
Think small and you’ll fall behind.
Think that you can and you will,
It’s all in the state of mind.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the fellow who thinks he can.
